FRANCIS (FRANK) PUGH FACEY

Frank Facey, born the eldest of eight children, rose to success from his humble beginnings in Cranbourne,Victoria.

He married his wife Rebecca in 1900 and, as a family man, became an accomplished carriage builder with Searle Coach

Builders of Dandenong.

In 1913 the beginning of Frank’s business initiative came when he purchased his own coach building business from a

Mr Hemming in Pultney Street, Dandenong. His real estate career was set in motion a little later when, in 1917 he

saw a huge potential for growth in the area and opened his own real estate business.

Over the next few years he continued to have a foot in both camps simultaneously conducting both the real estate and

coach building businesses. Always taking the initiative and looking for ways to improve his station in life Frank became

a sworn valuer and then, in 1933, a Justice of the Peace.
